Jiří Beneš
Managing Partner
Jiří co-founded Stratum Partners (originally Genesis Growth) with Radim and Marek, launching Fund I in 2019. As a Managing Partner, he leads investment strategy, oversees the investment decision process, and drives team development. He has originated, evaluated, structured, and executed multiple transactions, and serves as a member of the Investment Committee with full decision-making responsibility across all proposed deals.
Jiří brings over 25 years of a private equity experience across Central Europe and has served on the boards of a significant number of portfolio companies. He was a founding member and Board member of the Czech CFA Institute (2003–2008) and currently serves as a President and Chairman of the Board of the Czech Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
Experience
Prior to founding Stratum Partners, Jiří was a Partner at 3TS Capital Partners, the leading growth capital investor in the Central European region. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Corporate Finance team at PwC and covered CEE equity markets in London as an Equity Analyst with a top-rated regional team at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell / Deutsche Bank.
Edu
He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the Prague University of Economics and Business and earned the CFA designation in 2001. He is fluent in Czech and English.
Leisure
Outside of work, Jiří is an enthusiastic sportsman. He plays beach volleyball and tennis, enjoys cycling and mountain hiking, and is passionate about both downhill and cross-country skiing – including regular participation in the Jizerska 50, one of the Czech Republic’s most beloved cross-country ski races.
