Knihobot/Bookbot has been on a mission to change the book market by teaching readers to return used books to circulation. Founded by two brothers, it is a growing re-commerce platform specializing in the acquisition and resale of second-hand books. The company combines modern technology with a sustainable approach, enabling customers to sell and buy used books across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, and Germany, marketed primarily through its own website and online marketplaces.

Stratum entered into the company by acquiring a minority stake in 2024 in a Series A funding round where it participated with existing shareholder Miton. The two founders maintain significant stakes in the company and hold the positions of CEO and CTO.

Stratum’s investment thesis is to support Knihobot’s expansion in the DACH region, capitalizing on the rapid growth of re-commerce and the sizeable German second-hand book market.
